Size & Wight
For a 5.5 inch display phone, this phone is a very good size that can be comfortably operated with one hand as well as fitting comfortably in the pocket. Thanks to the 18:9 Aspect ratio, this phone is tall and narrow.
The display is the best feature on the phone. You get a brilliant full HD FullVision display. The colours are sharp and crisp. The display screen covers most of the front of the phone with very thin bezels on side and smallish bezels on the top giving it a very good body-to-screen ratio.
Unfortunately, the processor is the downside to the phone. We now live in a time where smartphones can do a lot and therefore some applications require some hefty processing power. When it comes to playing games with really good graphics, this phone struggles. You can play the game, but you will notice plenty of lag. The processor is perfectly fine for general use, but if you’re into gaming, this is not the phone for you.
RAM & Storage
For a budget phone, you get a decent amount of RAM and a good amount of internal storage that can be expanded with a Micro SD card.
For a budget phone, the camera is good enough, although it can be a bit hit and miss at times. When you have good lighting on your side, you can take some very good pictures with crisp detail. However, in bad lighting conditions, the phone can struggle to focus and pictures can be very poor and blurry. How good your picture turns out, depends on how good the lighting is.
The battery performance is average, you can easily get a day’s worth of use out of it, however, if you watch a lot of videos and use have intensive apps, you can expect half a day’s worth of use.
Face Recognition Unlock
This phone comes with face recognition unlock feature. What this means is, you can unlock the phone with your face. For a budget phone, the face unlock feature is pretty good, it recognises your face quite quickly and unlocks. It works very well good lighting, however, in poor lighting it is more miss than hit.
Verdict on The LG Q6 SIM Free
Overall, this is quite a good budget phone, it has the best display screen can get on a budget phone and the general specs are quite good, except for the processor.
The processor is what lets this phone down, unfortunately the Snapdragon 435 just doesn’t cut it these days and considering how much LG are selling this phone for it should have come with the snapdragon 635 processor.
The processor is a strange decision by LG as they have produced a very good looking phone, and the first budget phone to have thin bezels with 18:9 aspect ratio but spoilt it with the poor processor.
If you’re someone who doesn’t play games, then you will get along very well this phone and the processor should bother you too much.
If you’re someone who puts looks ahead of performance, then you absolutely love this phone as no other phone looks as good as this one in its price category. This phone has the quality look of a flagship phone but without the flagship prices.
