Size & Wight

It’s no surprise that the Note is slightly bigger and heavier. This is due to its slightly larger screen as well as its ability to house the S Pen within the body of the phone.

Display

The screen is slightly bigger in the Note 8, but not enough to make it obvious when using the two phones.

Processor

Both phones come with the same processor, which is manufactured by Samsung as well. Overall the performance is very good with the Samsung CPU.

RAM & Storage

The Note 8 has more RAM, this should ensure the phone runs more smoothly when doing multiple things at once on the phone.

Camera

This is the area where the Note 8 vastly differs from the S8 Plus. The Note 8 comes with a dual lens camera on the back and both of them are 12 MP. One camera is a f/1.7 wide-angle lens and the other is a f/2.4 telephoto one. The second camera has better zoom abilities without distorting the picture as well as bokeh-packing portrait-like shots.

Battery

Surprisingly, the S8 Plus has a slightly larger battery. However, you have to bear in mind that the Note 8 comes with the S Pen slot built into the phone body and this produces less space to add a larger battery. However, there isn’t a huge difference in battery performance.

Other Information About The Note 8

S Pen

With the Note 8 you get the S pen stylus. This is a nice little pan that you can take out from the bottom of the body and use it to make Notes as well as navigate the phone. This feature is great for those who need to constantly make Notes on the fly.

Verdict on The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SIM Free

As you can see, both phones are great, but the Note 8 does have a slight edge on 8 Plus. The extra RAM helps the Note 8 feel noticeably quicker and generally a lot smoother. The camera is better in the Note 8 and if you are a photographer that constantly zooms into images, then you’ll be very grateful for the zoom function in the second camera. The S Pen is a great feature for constant Notetakers, simply because writing on the screen is quicker than typing with your hands.

Both phones are very similar, but the Note 8 does edge it, thanks to its better performance, better camera and the nifty little S Pen. Having said that, not everyone will need these features and therefore be happy with the S8 Plus.
